Child Custody & Visitation Modification
Oakland-Walnut Creek Child Custody and Visitation
You may have a new custody dispute after your divorce and child custody order is finalized. The need to make adjustments to an existing order or decree is called a "post-decree modification". At the Law Offices of Robert A. Goodman, we are experienced in helping clients make modifications to their existing custody or visitation orders.
Protect your rights and financial interests regarding your child custody modifications by calling an attorney you can trust at The Law Offices of Robert A. Goodman.
Modifications to child custody and/or visitation orders may arise from a relocation of one or more parents, or a change in circumstances to either parent. A visitation modification may be necessary if one spouse is moving or has a new job that cannot be accommodated by the current schedule. We can assist you in protecting your rights during the negotiations and/or litigation for a change in custody and/or visitation.

Our attorneys have handled many cases related to the endangerment of children. We will help you get custody modification or a restraining order.
Child custody evaluations
A "child custody evaluation" may be necessary for the court to make an informed decision in your child custody or visitation case. Child custody evaluations cost between $4,000 and $10,000, which may be paid by one party or split between the parties, depending on the determination of the court. The court will usually determine which party is most able to pay the cost up front, but the court generally will reserve jurisdiction to re-allocate the costs at the conclusion of the evaluation. Sometimes parties will split the cost equally. However, if one party is relocating, that party may have to advance the cost of the evaluation.
